All individuals carrying through the whole live 50% of hereditary material from the biological mother as well as 50% hereditary material from the biological father.

There may be several reasons for a person to confirm a kinship. The best guarantee is to have a DNA analysis performed.

We use molecular biology tests, where it is possible to decide if two or more persons are related. A DNA profile consisting of 15 genetic markers based on 15 different chromosomes is constructed for each person. These 15 markers give genetic information making every person unique. The whole test gives information about kinship. Therefore, with DNA results from a child and an expected father it is possible with more than 99.9% to assure a paternity result. If possible it is an advantage if also a sample from the biological mother is sent for analyses together with a sample from the child and the expected father.

The samples are analysed in Denmark, making it possible to supervise and control the whole process. Interpretation of all results are performed by two experts.

DNA for the above analysis can be tested using a check swab or a small blood sample. The quality of the test result is identical secondary to the use of check swab or blood. Sending of test kit and instruction will be done after ordering.
