We use molecular-biological testing methods to determine
the zygosity of twins, i.e. whether they are monozygotic
(identical twins) or dizygotic (fraternal twins). A DNA
profile consisting of 15 genetic markers based on 15 different
chromosomes is constructed for each person. These 15 markers
give a genetic polymorphism that makes every person unique.
This allows the determination of how related a multiple
is. The amount of genetic markers used in the test is
similar to or higher than used in most forensic laboratories.
The samples are analysed in Denmark
and test results interpreted by experts.
Who is the test for?
No referrals are necessary. All persons, who want to
confirm their kinship, can apply for the test.
Reports:
Reports are usually posted within 10 working days after
all samples are received and payment registered.
